TGM was involved in the design and documentation of earthworks, infrastructure services and plant/equipment footings/foundations for the establishment of a silver and lead mine in Cobar, outback NSW.
The Wonawinta silver and lead project is for Cobar Consolidated Resources Limited and involved the excavation of waste rock and ore material from four open cut areas totaling nearly 100 hectares. The processing plant and office areas covers an area of over 20 hectares and includes crushing and grinding equipment, processing plants for both silver and lead, site offices, workshops, stores and camp facilities for 70 staff.
The project included the formation of processed and raw water storage facilities, various haul and construction roads and a 38 hectare tailings storage facility. With the remote nature of the project TGM staff enjoyed a 3-hour chartered plane flight to Cobar and a 2-hour drive to the site through the vast NSW outback.
