On 5th July 2017, TGM hosted a seminar on the new industry guidelines by Engineers Australia and Geoscience Australia, Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR) 2016. Leading editors Mr Mark Babister and Dr Peter Coombes presented to 50 representatives from Victorian Councils, Melbourne Water, CMA’s and independent consultancies.
The ARR 2016 Guidelines provide engineers and analysts with the guidance and datasets necessary to produce more reliable and consistent rainfall and flood estimation studies and mapping, across Australia, now and into the future.
Mark Babister discussed the background of ARR 2016, detailed key outputs, highlighted the key changes from ARR 1987 processes including changes in terminology. Dr Coombes presented on Urban Book Chapter 9 and discussed his fields of expertise; Urban Drainage and the Urban Water Cycle.
