Harrison Place - 237 Ryrie Street, Geelong
The Harrison Place project is a major commercial development in Ryrie Street, Geelong. The building is an iconic six-storey structure with high-profile tenants such as the Child Support Agency, Slater & Gordon Lawyers, Bendigo Bank and the Red Cross Blood Bank. The project included a café at the lower level and underground car parking. TGM was engaged by the principal design consultant, PJ O’Reilly Architects, at the early design stages to provide design services for the building. We were able to provide key advice regarding alternative structural solutions, which shortened the timeline of the project. The project required the design of basement retention structures, pre-cast concrete external and shear core panels, continuous composite steel floor beams, concrete floor slabs and roof structures. Surveying services at design stage included a full feature survey of the site and civil design for the project incorporating stormwater harvesting.
Following the design phase, TGM was retained by the construction project management consultant, Morton Dunn Architects, to provide ongoing construction supervision and by the contractor, H. Troon, to provide surveying services. Surveying services included setting out the project and included the unique aspect of setting out the curved front glazing wall on each level.
